...And out come the wolves

Vince and I mostly share the same taste in music, but one of the genres we never get quite on the same page is punk rock. Todays menu consists of an oldie from Rancid, and some new, gritty but fresh stuff from Santa Cruz' favourite boys The Swingin' Utters.

First batter up is Rancid, though. Their biggest commercial success is also the name of this entry, released in 1995. "...And Out Come The Wolves" is considered one of the most important albums in punks mid-90's revival. The three biggest hits, and also singles, were Time Bomb, Ruby Soho and Roots Radical. None of them made the cut today, though. The one that did was the ska-flirt "Old Friend". And yes, I know Lars Fredriksen doesn't sing like a church choir.

I've been slacking the past year. Two of my old favourite bands from junior high dropped albums, Bad Religion did so in September last year, Swingin' Utters this April, and both of them blindsided me on an idle Tuesday while randomly browsing Spotify. I've got to get back in the loop. This is by far my favourite from SU's latest: "Lepers, Thieves And Whores".

"Old Friend" og "Lepers, Thieves And Whores".
